Data Retention Update

Applies to the Majalis apps, majalis.ae and majalis.k22hub.com. This dated notice updates the retention information on our Privacy Policy, Delete Account and Delete Data pages from its effective date. The existing policy remains available during the notice period.

Update to how Majalis retains deleted data

We are updating the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy. The update takes effect on 18 November 2026. It explains the following retention periods and protections:

• When you delete your account, your profile is hidden immediately. You can cancel deletion by signing back in within 180 days. After that recovery period, we erase personal profile details and disable the sign-in identity.
• The hidden account identifier and retained account content can remain for up to seven years from the deletion request. A message you already sent can remain in the recipient's conversation until the applicable deletion time. Records subject to an open case or another continuing retention requirement remain restricted until that requirement ends.
• Posts, comments and messages you delete are removed from normal display immediately. A deleted direct or group message remains retrievable by its conversation members for up to 30 days, then moves to private storage. Deleted content is retained privately for seven years from deletion, unless a continuing case or retention requirement applies. Content belonging to a deleted account follows that account's retention period.
• Story photos and videos are removed 30 days after posting unless you keep them in Highlights. Evidence retained for a report or enforcement case remains hidden while its applicable protection continues.
• Moderation reports and enforcement records have a two-year retention period. Evidence is not deleted while a related suspension is active, an appeal is unresolved, or a legal hold applies. When a suspension or appeal ends, the original deadline is not restarted. A new appeal decision has its own retention period. Legal holds have separate closure requirements. The same protections apply to automatic fraud sanctions.

This notice does not change who can see content in the app or give other members access to private retained evidence. Other retention categories keep their existing terms. For questions or to exercise your privacy rights, contact privacy@k22hub.com.
